Today, together with Professor Mercader, I presented the Barça Economic Report (2005–2025): an independent overview of the club’s financial management.
The key findings are clear:
1) Without La Masia, Barça would be in sporting and economic bankruptcy. It has been La Masia — not the financial management of this mandate — that has prevented the sporting and economic collapse.
2) With a budget of nearly 1,000 million euros, it is unacceptable that there is no allocation for the members. It is intolerable to disregard the member.
3) “Laporta lives off La Masia’s successes while reducing investment.”
Investment in youth development has dropped from 40 to 25 million euros during this mandate.
4) In these four years, Laporta has sold nearly 900 million euros worth of inherited club assets.
Without this inheritance, accumulated losses would already reach 1,000 million euros — equivalent to the total value of the first team squad.
5) The report makes it clear that the decision to push Messi out was not economic. “The numbers were the excuse.”
🔵🔴 Barça deserves transparency, respect, and leadership worthy of its history.
